BTW i forgot to adress the other issues with leather. if it's hot and you're
wearing shorts they are not very comfortable as they stick to your skin as
you perspire. you'll need to condition them often since honda leather is
kinda cheap and stiff, but any leather will have to be maintained. leather
will be easier to keep dog hair out of than cloth. HTH!

Dear Alfie:
In response to your inquiry, the leather seats are warmer as they don't
breath. Also the dogs slip and slide on them more because they are smooth.
They must be treated (we recommend Meguiars Gold Class Leather Cleaner &
Conditioner) in order to keep them soft and from cracking, especially in hot,
dry weather. But they are luxurious. And to keep any dog odor from permeating
the car, use Meguiars Odor Eliminator. The woman who owns the "Pupwagon,"
featured in the Winter issue of Velocity, page 44, does professional dog care
and swears by it.
You might want to order the car with cloth and use Meguiars Heavy Duty Carpet
& Interior Cleaner to maintain it. When the cloth starts to wear or if you
find you really don't like them, you can replace them with custom Katzkin
leather upholstery. Katkin is one of our benefit providers and gives our
members a discount. They advertise in Velocity and will be showing their new
line in a forthcoming issue. And wait until you see the seats they did for
our featured S2000 in a forthcoming issue of Velocity. They are unbelievable
and the quality of their product is superb.
Both Meguiars and Katzkin are linked from both the benefits and links pages
of our Web site.
Should you want any further information, please let us know.

donovan, i personally use meguiar's medallion leather conditioner (very similar to meguiar's gold class leather care, but tougher to find) BUT, that's just what i use. Leather won't usually "come back" from a cracking/torn condition, but treating it does help it stay the way it is a LOT! I've heard people rave about "lexol" two step process, and it's something i wouldn't hesitate to recommend either. I am just not a fan of the smell of the lexol conditioner. I have on occasion used the lexol cleaner and then the meguiar's conditioner. either product should do as well for a seat as "I PERSONALLY" know... i am not the authority on leather care though... hope it helps somewhat. depending on the existing condition of your seats, and your level of D.I.Yourself comfort, I've heard good things about the leather you can get from "www. leatherseats .com" and i think, "www. katskins .com" too. I may try it myself shortly, but probably on my nissan with cloth, my vig's seats are decent. diesel
