In all of this rain on this East coast, my 2000 CRV has now gotten
some kind of bad leak of rain water that comes in on the passenger
side floor. I'm not sure if it's a seal in the window or what. Has
anyone here had this problem? If so, how did you go about fixing
it? Would it be difficult to fix oneself or not?

I just took it in to Carmax (where I bought it) and they thought I
was talking about an AC drip! I seriously told the guy that it was
rain water and that it's literally inches of water that enters the
vehicle. Now he says I'd have to pay 160 bucks for some waterseal
techs to come in from MD (I'm in VA) to just LOOK at it!

My resourceful husband said to look for a CRV list and perhaps I
could get some good advice.

I'd appreciate anyone's comments that could help.

Many thanks,
Claudine

My wife's 2000 CRV just started the same leaking last weekend. It was a mess. I've not gotten around to looking for the problem, but I figure some sort of drain or overflow must be stopped up. I'd sure like to hear of someone who has experiecnced the same problem and found the solution.

This kind of problem is often due to a worn out cowl foam seal in the engine compartment; if this is the case water usually drips through the blower assembly into the passenger site footwell (you may see it after heavy rains or when you wash the car). All you have to do is remove the cowl cover (take the opportunity to do a thorough clean up of the area and drains) and change the seal (to save money one can use gasket sealant instead)

I agree check the engine compartment first but you dont say if you have a sunroof as it has a drain that can get clocked and water will end up in your footwell. It could also be your weather stripping around your windshield.Run it through a car wash and see if you can pinpoint any area .
