I will never tell anyone that buying insurance is a bad idea, but I
will never tell anyone to buy insurance either.

Insurance of any type, by its very nature, is a losing proposition.
But is a necesary in some cases, (liability, and Life if you have a
family). It also carries some amount of "Peace of Mind" which has a
personal value that only the purchaser can rate.
So lets drop the subject, before we start losing people freom this
very valuable board.
