Okay, I finally found enough time to install my JR supercharger on my 95' Honda civic. Install went really well except I have a couple of questions on the vacuum hose routings: 1. The instructions said to run a vacuum hose from the Purge Cut Solenoid valve to the to a fitting on the supercharger by-pass valve. The Purge Cut solenoid valve originally had a line coming from the charcoal canister, where does this line go now? Do I just cap it off? 2. I seem to have an extra vacuum port on the bottom side of the throttle body. Anybody know what goes here, or should I just cap this off as well? I don't think these two lines go together; the line from the charcoal canister is small (3/16") and the vacuum port on the throttle body is larger (5/16"). I have started the car (with both of these capped) and its running okay at idle, and I don't have a check engine light on, so things seem to be right. Now to get it tuned!

The best thing to do is to get it all installed and sell the car.  I had a 96 Civic Ex with a JR Blower.  I bought a dsm and now I'm smoking all my little honda buddys.  Hondas are not fast, let's face it.  Even with the blower, air filter, headers, exhaust, AEM throttle body, clutch master carbon kevlar stage 4, lightened flywheel, ignition, gude cams, rims blah blah blah.  It still wasn't as fast as my lightly modded DSM.  I'mnot telling you this to make you mad.  I'm just telling you this because I wish someone told me earlier.  Have fun with your little honda, but if you want to go fast get something that has a better platform for performance.

All a matter of opinion.  My wife (?) beat an Eclipse the other night, although it was almost stock (so he said) and driven by a teen-ager.  Actually, I almost bought a 99 Eclipse before I bought my Honda, but for the price and the mods, the Honda was the winner.  No, a Honda is never going to do 10 second quarter miles (and still be driveable), but then an Eclipse isn't either.  I like the Honda's looks, the reliability and if I lose a race; oh well, what did you expect from 1.5 liters!  Now if your turbo-charged, intercooled, DOHC, all-wheel drive, limited-slip Eclipse loses to my lowely Honda, you'll never live it down.  I like being the underdog.

I liked the same thing about my honda when I had it.  Racing cars with twice the displacement and beating them and still getting 20+ mpg.  But, when I show you time time slips, opinion has nothing to do with it.  Not trying to start with you guys, but I will tell you this.  You take your lx or dx(1.5liter engines) vs a stock eclipse turbo.  Stock an eclipse will smoke the civic.  then you put 5k into each one.  The eclipise will beat the civic even worse.  I have about 2k into my eclipse and I'm running mid to low 13's.  That's corvette territory.  I'll bet that guy with the JR Supercharger isn't breaking 14.5, let alone my 60foot and trap speed.  I have a friend with a 10 sec eclipse(on street radials) and it's really not a daily driver, but he does drive it on the street at least twice a week.  But, like you said, If your lowly honda beats me I'll never live it down.  That is true except it's still a little buzzing honda.  And for your sake god forbid it's from a stand still. You won't have a chance unless you have about a 12 sec car.  So, you choose how fast you want your car to go and how much you are willing to spend.  I'll just toss money at my car here and there and still be faster.  The reason is, if you aren't going to do internals(pistons, block guard) you can't compete with a turbo eclipse. I'm running 15 pounds of boost.  On a honda you can't run anywhere near that.  You make your decision...
