ok here's the deal. i bought my crx about a month or so ago from this guy in town. He told me it was a '90 Si. the registration said 1990 on it, but i couldnt find anything that told me it was an Si besides the alloy wheels and sunroof. either way, i knew it was a good deal and i liked it. however, now that i've read up on some stuff online. it says 90-91 Si's had rear disc brakes. mine doesnt. so now i am thinking its a DX, but that doesnt explain the sunroof. i didnt know Dx's could have sunroofs? the sunroof doesnt slide back and is just a piece of glass that pops up manually. help me out please!

The '88 & '89 CRX Si had rear drums the '90-92 were the only years to have rear discs. The front bumper on the 90+ have insets in the corners for factory fog lights, the 88-89 the fascia was flat. The seat belt assembly for the 90+ mounts entirely on the door, the 88- 89 attaches to the B-pillar. All Si(s) had factory sunroofs. These are just a few distinguishable details to help identify your car. You can also trace the model to through the VIN number. Good luck GumbyCRX

Adam, I re-read your previous post and noted that you had a pop-up or pop- out sunroof. This would lead me to believe that you have a DX. What version of the intake do you have multi-point or dual-point? What color is your interior? Si(s) are charcoal grey, the other models had blue. CK (alias GumbyCRX)

Sounds to me like you have a few after marked added extras, that kind of sunroof is put in afterwards, and believe me, you dont want to know how they do it!!!!

wow. didnt expect that, but it makes sense since theres no sun shade to pull to cover the glass. and if this is the case, they did a good job on it. and at least i didnt have to pay for that. thanks for the help. (i wonder what else has been added to my car besides the sunroof and the huge muffler!)

Hey, The sunroof sounds like it is an aftermarket, as the stock SI sunroofs aren't glass. They're body color and are electronic. I've got a 90 SI. There also should be a red SI symbol on the rear right window. If there is no marking on that window, it should be a DX. The 90-91 SIs came with rear disc brakes. Are your rims the 5 spoke or are they flat with the small almost triangular holes all around the outside? The SIs came with the 5spoke rims that are of a rounder contour. You can easily see the rotors through the holes. Also, the Si seats have small red pin-stripeing on them. The stripes are horizontal all the way up the inside center of the seat. Both the DX and the Si had 16 valve engines, and the intake manifold is noticeably smaller on the DX than the Si. Check the intake and see if the label on the top of the intake says MPFi or MPI on it. Also, if you want to give me a vin # or the number off the block, I can run it and find some really cool specifics of your car. That's the sure way to tell what it is as long as the motor is still stock. vsperformance@...
