Is it worth changing my '88 auto to a manual? The trani is already shot anyway. I'm wondering if I might encounter some probs with that conversion. Will I need to change the computer as well? I'd rather a coupe in a stick. Automatic is BORING! I feel like I'm not really driving. My first car was a stick and I loved it.<br><br>Any advice will be appreciated.<br><br>Thanks!

It can be done, but it's not worth it. You run into wiring harness issues, interior trim on top of all the other things. The cost of the conversion would far exceed the value of the car. You'd be better off to put a used tranny in, sell the car and buy a manual car if that's what you really want.<br><br>I know of at least 3 people who tried it with G2's (they wanted 6 speeds) claiming time and money were no object. All 3 gave up. One guy really butchered up a 95 coupe before quitting, another gave up after spending over $6K in parts alone. The last one had a complete donor car and still couldn't get it done.

I second Dave. Although anyting is possible, it just takes so much time, money, and effort, that most mortals quit the project. <br><br>Chris K.
