Because existing sources of auto reliability information left much to be desired, in late 2005 I started conducting my own reliability research at TrueDelta.com. TrueDelta reports absolute stats like "trips to the shop" that make the differences between cars much clearer. Results are updated four times a year, so any significant changes in a model's reliability become apparent quickly.

Over 400 Odyssey owners have already signed up to help, enabling us to provide results for all recent years, but more would certainly be better.

Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.

To encourage participation, panel members will receive full access to the results for free.

Well, sort of. But this one discusses the number of Ody owners already participating--a great group of owners!

Over 500 now.

I read about this site before. This time I looked up my Ford Free star 2004 gas mileage. I have the 4.2 liter engine and a V6 so the mileage for mine is 25 mpg. That's awesome! They also have the average for your car . It can't be beat for getting updated information, and reliability. I would definitely want to know how many people are having to go to the garage. What are the problems they are having?

Thanks for the encouragement, Grace.

Updated results recently posted for every model year from 2000 through 2007. In general the repair rate is better than average, but the 2000, 2006, and 2007 are just a little better than average.

The results for many of these years are asterisked for marginal sample size. Very much need more participants.
