I'm new to this forum.

One of my cars is a Honda Jazz Sport (Fit).

It is a great car, super practical and rather economical.

One thing that could do with improvement is the car's stability IMHO, and as such I was thinking of installing some bigger rims and some better rubber.

After that possibly even a brake upgrade.

I would really appreciate your opinions and experience on the matter.

Thank you for your help!

It has a Jazzy name ! I just got my brakes put in the van. The old ones wouldn't pass inspection. I got brand new ones. It really makes a difference when I'm driving. The safety is very important too.

I know what you mean about the straightline stability of these cars. My guess is that the suspension tuning is partly to blame. More toe in the front would improve that, but at the cost of some handling.

Another thing to get done for the van. My list is growing . The tires are supposed to be rotated and balanced because of the amount of mileage on it. My husband took it in for the last one. I took it for the very first one. It was pulling to the right side of the vehicle. They fixed it so it does pull , but goes straight. Welcome to the man from Portugal with the slick black Jazz sport . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Welcome to the forum.. Anyway, the CG of your car may not be very good as car tends to swing when cornering. This is due to the high height of the car. Can be improved by lowering the car or bigger rim as compared to stock 14".

So what kind of difference does a bigger rim have for the Fit Sport? It would improve the stability of the vehicle? I didn't know exactly happens when you makes the wheels bigger. Usually, the trucks I see are the little ones with a mountain sized tires on it. It should match the vehicle it's on.

Thanks for all the replies!

I have 15" rims on the car, and getting it past inspection without homolgation would be impossible.
I'm thinking of getting some softer tires, and maybe a good brake upgrade, so I've got my eye on some products.

The onlly other thing I'm thinking of is an induction kit, to get some more torque and bhp out of it.

Well, it got passed inspection with flying colours. (that is the MOT equivalent/every 4 years inspection)
The inspectors sang praise about Hondas, and how he was fed up with all the german cars that fail their inspections! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Anyway I will try post some pics soon enough.

Bye
