Because existing sources of auto reliability information left much to be desired, in late 2005 I started conducting my own reliability research at TrueDelta.com. TrueDelta reports absolute stats like "trips to the shop" that make the differences between cars much clearer. Results are updated four times a year, so any significant changes in a model's reliability become apparent quickly.

So far only the 2002, 2007, and 2008 are included in the main survey. Other years will be added once at least 25 owners have signed up to participate. Both 2003 and 2005 are close. More participants are needed for all model years, so I'm grateful that the owner of this forum has provided permission to post here. (Thanks, Andy!)

Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.

To encourage participation, panel members will receive full access to the results for free.

Updated results recently posted for the 2002 and 2007, with the first asterisked for insufficient sample size. We'd like to provide solid results for all model years.

Another update has been posted.

I'd like to include additional model years in future updates. Need owners' help to make this happen.

You're welcome. Thanks for the support.

Over 25,000 car owners have already signed up, so it's not so small. Need thousands more, of course.
