Well im new to the forum. Seems people on honda-tech arent interested in serious talk, but rather attack eachother for no real reason. Im here cause i noticed its in the RULES to not attack eachother, AND I LOVE THAT! lol Im hoping the admins are cool too!
If your from CT and u got an 06-07 Civic, lets talk lol
I own a 2007 Honda CIvic LX 1.8L 5 speed manual with already 7000 miles on it! lol bought it on july 31st 2007!
i drive alot, and i know alot about different cars, but I dont know everything and im always looking for extra advice as long as its backed up by evidence! Unfortunatly people on honda-tech were unable to back up their evidence.. they only could bad mouth me cause they knew little about what they were talking about. Many people only submitted to threads just to jump in on the talking smack. Sad place!
I have already one question! which i might make a new thread for if i cant find a similar thread.
I have seen the new 8th generation civic body style, without a tailfin (so it has a brake light inside the window) with 6 LEDs (light emitting diodes) across instead of a wedge base bulb! I have seen this on multiple accounts and i WANT IT!!!! (IMG:

so if you know HOW or WHERE to purchase the kit or back deck or watever, let me know!!!
Also have questions about HIDs.
Ive talked to an electrical engineer about HIDs and heres what ive found:
Plug and play kits are usable, but are unrecommended ONLY because they are not DOT approved. They are safe for Voltage, wattage and Ampage purposes. (civic wireing is 20amp 600V rated, Most kits are 20 AMP 12-16V max, 3.2 amp continuous)
I was wondering if anyone could tell me a serious reason to be concerned if I was to use a plug and play HID kit in my halogen projectors? Alot of people told me the following reasons, which are all bogus:
Will burn the housing out.... (they run cooler, but ok......)
Will burn your wires out (ummmmmm same amp rating... same voltage, and less wattage, but ok)
Will blind people (ummmm a POSSIBILITY! but due to cutoff of the housing, not likely)
Will have blind spots (AH but the electrode runs parallel to the plastic cap!)
So i have OBVIOUSLY found reasons that these "reasons" are sad excuses for research not done. If you have a reason, with research to back it up PLEASE let me know before i go buy the kit im looking at!
Also, Im looking at a K&N short ram intake for my car, any concerns i should be aware of?
THANKS PEOPLE! And hopefully you guys are more pleasant than alot of the other people i have come across! (8thcivic.com was helpful but not knowledgable on the LED kit) (IMG:
