Hey I am a 92 Honda civic owner totally stock and I'm looking to start modifying it (well it probably needs a little work before I start upgrading it). I am in the san Jose CA area do you know of any Honda clubs in that area? or anyone who likes to wrench on them I could use some help! thanx Sincerely, Sean Prevost

If you want to make it go fast, don't waste your time.  Sell it and get an Eclipse GSX.  You will thank me later for the advice. Ex-96 civic ex w/Jackson Racing blower and $10K in mods. Dre www.fly.to/blowncivic 90 Eclipse GSX

You can make those starions fast.  They are fun cars.  No prob man, I just hate to see people waste a ton of cash on a honda and find out that it still isn't that fast.  Take it easy man!

Either way you are going to spend a mountain of cash to get the cars fast.  I have a 95’ Honda civic and a 1987 Conquest TSI.  And while yes, you can get more HP out of the Conquest/Starion, its not cheap.  A good engine rebuild for one of these cars will cost you about $5K.  A good turbo upgrade and stand alone fuel system (the stock 2 injector system is only good for about 300HP) will cost you another $5K, but this will be good for about 450HP.

While you can’t get 450HP out of a civic for that cheap, you don’t need to.  A civic HB weighs about 2500 lbs., where my Conquest is close to 3500 lbs.  325HP in a civic HB will be just about as quick, although traction soon becomes a problem.

If your just looking for some cheap fun HP, and your motor is in good shape, I would suggest a 50HP nitrous kit.  For the money, it’s hard to beat.  A turbo or supercharger kit will cost you about$2500, and you would be lucky to get a 75HP increase without serious bottom end work.  For that price, you could get a nitrous kit, intake, header, re-programmed computer and still have some money left over.  If you want maximum HP though, I would go with a turbo kit, but anything over 250HP and you will need to build the engine to take it.
