I love almost everything about this car, except the currently medicore gas mileage (25-30mpg) and the DRIVER'S SEAT. Granted, I already have back/neck problems, but when driving this car my pain spikes. In my Subaru Impreza, the pain is 1 to 3 out of 10. In the fit, it often spikes to 8 or 9, to the point where it's dangerous for me to be driving because I'm so distracted and upset. I kept my 1993 subaru impreza with 200k miles on it because I currently can't drive the Fit.
I don't think the lack of legroom is an issue. I think the issue is lack of lumbar support, the damn headrest, and the fact the seat tilts forward ever so slightly. I replaced the headrest but it didn't help much. I've spent around $200 on various back supports with little to no luck.
I need to replace the seat on this car, or else I'll need to sell it. I don't want to sell it. I'm not sure if replacing the seat is even possible, since it's such a one-of-a-kind car, and the fact that the gas tank is under the seat. My dealer seems rather clueless.
If you can help me figure out how to replace the seat, I'll cry with happiness and bake you cookies.
