t (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) the car is a 1991 Honda accord I am not sure if the problems lies within the shift solenoid or if its with the TCM before the problem started the green “S” Sports light would come on even though the button wasn’t activated on the shifter after a while I noticed the car started jumping while driving as if it was switching gears. I again noticed that when I cold start the car or after waiting for a traffic light the car would drag when I remove my feet from the brake pedal the car wouldn’t move I have to floor the vehicle for it to move and then it moves slowly. The green s light would come on and off while the vehicle is jumping and I notice it drags only when the green s light is on. The light doesn’t blink or flash it’s either on or off When the green s light is off the car works perfectly. Reverse is the only gear the car works well in.

sorry 4 tha long post

The flashing drive light is a sure indicator that its time to look for a good trannie shop.

Some people have had luck changing the fluid and I keep mine 1/2 a pint over filled... works for me.

Best of Luck

I am having the same problem. I know I do not need a new transmission. The problem that I am having it is difficult to get it out of park and the S light is on.

Shot in the dark but here are my thoughts:

Low fluid level could be playing havoc with the torque converter. Check the level with the trans dipstick.

Could be your fluid is shot or the filter/screen is plugged. That would cause hydraulic problems. These items are cheap and simple, so do a fluid change before you do anything else.

Problem with the valve body, possibly

Torque converter clutch not disengaging.

That's the best thing I have ever seen before. Thanks for the Honda ER web sight! I looked on it and couldn't believe the pictures, the systems listed separately. It was so perfect for anyone who who has trouble with their Honda. Usually it takes a visit to the garage, and parts store, to get the information you need.
