Additional safety and visibility on the road, I tried many H4 bulbs that the CR-V uses.  I finally liked the HELLA H4 100w highbeam/80w low beam, non-ultraviolet halogen bulbs the best.  They don't irritate on-coming drivers on low beam either.  1997-2001 CR-V's use the H4 (HB2) plug-in bulb.

The Honda factory installed bulbs are 60w highbeam/55w lowbeam!

www.rallylights.com has the cheapest prices and very reasonable/fast shipping, about $9 a bulb!  I noticed they finally have more of the 130w/90w and 100w/55w bulbs too.  If you go to their Web Site "click" "automotive replacement bulbs" then on the next page "standard halogen bulbs".  Those "funky" colored bulbs look cool but put-out less usable light.
