RSX Type S, Premium Pearl White, Gold Emblem, Mud
Guards, Wheel Locks, Rear Spoiler. Set up like this and
the car is simply stunning to look at. (Getting a lot
of eye contact from Integra owners who wish they
hadn't bought last year.) Even the dealership was amazed
at how good it looks. They are recommending this set
up to anyone considering white. From the front, the
lines of the car come to a focal point by the hood
crease and the left and right hood seams that bring it
to the gold emblem which creates a synergy so that
the car looks extremely rich and luxurious. If not
for the emblem being gold, the effect would not be
achieved. Since the color is the creamy pearl white, all
the seams of the car stand out in black shadow,
lending a "space shuttle" effect, like the car is an
incredible technological marvel and the occupants must be
from the future, slumming around as time travelers.
The front headlights on either side look like
diamonds, especially in the sun. They are amazing. From the
rear, the new tail lights are extremely beautiful. Each
light has an echo of the old Integra front lights, with
the bumper having mini oval scoop-outs to meet
flushly with the circular parts of each light. A very
impressive appearance from the rear, to say the
least.

The standard wheels look really good and I see no
need to consider upgrading to the 7 spoke optional
wheels.

Inside, the in dash CD player is really nice, but like
everyone else is mentioning, there isn't enough volume. So
what! The shifter is a little tight for my liking, and
getting all the way over to reverse makes you wonder if
you'll dislocate your shoulder some day. Typical
shifting for me involves 1st to get going, then to 2nd,
which I rev up to about 4000 - 5000, then drop it over
into 4th and skip 3rd all together. 4th is good for
town driving, and 5th will keep you around 2000 rpm.
6th gear is strictly for highway stuff or roads that
are posted at 40 mph or higher. I like the dash
lighting, and there is a dimming switch to suit your taste
on its brightness. Also, each window button has a
little red light which adds a classy touch.

The
engine involves a lot of whirring noise drifting into
the passenger compartment that was not noticed with
my 3 Integra GS-R's from my last three leases. This
whirring may go away over time, though I don't know. The
engine has a wonderful low growl/rumble and you and
everyone who hears it knows the car is a
performer.

The first day, found myself going a little too fast,
coming up on other cars a little quicker than I am used
to, and then requiring my braking at the last minute
to avoid hitting them. So, the car can get away from
you a little, and so beware. Also, on the spedometer,
40 mph is just a little slice of the full 160 mph
range and so you don't grasp your speed since the car
is so smooth riding. Hope I don't inadvertently get
a speeding ticket.

The view out the back is
extremly limited and if in doubt about obstacles when
going in reverse, I recommend your getting out and
checking directly with what you are up against. The
mirrors are heated, something I didn't know about. I
think they go on when you use the rear
defroster.

The car comes with its own alarm system which goes
off with the horn honking instead of the famiiar
after market medley of bells and whistles. The horn is
very loud, too.

Anyway, I am extremely pleased
with my new car and as anyone who has white and the
gold kit knows, it is a beautiful work of art and
technology.

That's all for now. I think I'll go out for a Sunday
drive now...again!!
