I've been doing some research and am very excited
about the Insight. Insightman has been very helpful
(thank you!) and anything the Honda dealer doesn't know,
I've found online. I'm glad all of you are available
for me to ask questions. My only concern about the
Insight is the battery back--do the cells ever need to be
replaced, and if so, what is the cost? I know none of you
have reached 80K miles yet, but it crosses my mind.
Has anyone EVER brought their Insight in for service
other than oil changes? Thanks!! Jill

The cost of the battery pack has been estimated
to be 1000-2000 dollars, I doubt anyone knows.It
does not concern me.<br>I had a speedometer replaced
at full warranty. One of the segments failed making
an 8 look like a backwards 6. Nothing else except
oil changes and tire rotations. Great car, 13,000
miles. Just completed an 1800 mile trip, speed 75-80

Interesting... my wife and I went to a dealer in
S.SanFran this weekend and asked the same question about
battery life and got the run around. Now, either the
'very aggressive' salesman didn't know, or something is
up. Maybe their isn't enough data... but all he said
was I could always buy the extended warrenty to be
safe. Currently the standard is 36months/36k miles.
Well, my commute is at least 150 miles a day... that's
why I'm looking into the Insight... more info is
needed.
