Unfortunately my gearbox is on the way out :-( When going from 4th to 5th at high revs it crunches unless I'm very slow and deliberate with the gear change. Longshot I know... If anyone has got a 'good' gearbox for a 2.2 200bhp manual 5th gen 1999 (V)I might be interested. Cheers JonB

Hi there, I have had the same issue with my 4th Gen VTEC for a very long time... I don't do many miles in the Prelude these days but I'd say it's done 30 - 40k with it and hasn't got any worse. I'd say if you can put up with the crunch, it may last a long time! Chris.

Cheers for that. Makes me feel a bit better. I was also advised to get Honda to change the gearbox oil. Will give that a try next time the car needs a service. This forum may be quiet, but always comes up trumps for me. Thanks peeps! :-)
