Wondering what you all thought of Fords? I had a Ford Freestar awhile back and found it to be a piece of junk.

Well, it just depends on what model you've got, I think. I love Ford Mustangs. Those are solid cars IMO.

I had a 1997 Ford Mustang and traded it in less than a year. It looked great but handled more like a sedan than a sports car. I HATED it.

But LOVED the purple colour! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/460.gif)

I think, as with many things, it depends a lot on the specifics. I prefer Hondas due to the reliability of the brand, but, I'm sure there are good Ford models out there too.

I don't know if it's fair to compare Hondas and Fords. There are lots of other imports that have the same or worse quality than Ford, but Hondas are known for quality.

I do like the vintage Mustangs and the more recent ones. Where I grew up it seemed people were either pro-Ford or pro-Chev.

I don't remember a whole lot of enthusiasm for Chrysler products in my area.

Is there a lot of enthusiasm for Chrysler products anyplace? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Everyone I've known chided me for my purchase.

I have seen a lot of Ford trucks around, particularly the F series, I think.

I guess they're competing with the Dodge Rams.

Never owned a Ford myself but heard many horror stories. Most people here call them F.O.R.D - Fix or Repair Daily.

I drive a 2001 Ford Focus, and I love it. I have had no major problems so far, but who knows what could happen in the future. I think it just depends on the model.

I have also heard : Found on Road Dead. Yeah, I have never had any good experiences with Fords. I had an Explorer once that gave me nothing but problems, and every friend I have known that has had one wished they had chosen something else.

Well if you are basing it on the older Ford Escort's I would have to agree. But I have had good and bad Fords.

My father-in-law has owned several Lincolns. He's an example of someone from another generation choosing a brand and sticking with it.

Once in Las Vegas we booked a limo ride on the strip, and he joked with the chauffeur about why he showed up in a Cadillac instead of a Lincoln.

To each his own opinion, but it sounds to me like you never rode in my friend's Mach 1.

He modified it himself, but it was never "garbage" in my opinion. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Cheers!

I have actually heard the later model Fords have improved quite a bit. Can't say personally but I have heard this from a few people.

For years it seems either you are on the side of the Ford or the side of the Chevy. We have this same argument in our family all the time.

In the case of my friend's Mach 1 that I mentioned above, it was a 75, and he exceeded the legal modifications to make the car perform better.

Even before the changes, it was a beautiful car that performed well, as I recall.

Personally, I do like the way the later model Mustangs are starting to look more like the earlier models.
