I cross-posted this to the other CRV group(where I got the original
info/replies below). Thought some of you who want fog lights may be
interested:

Well, I finally bought and installed the fog lights on my '02 with
encouragement from people on the list(I saved the previous posts
below from a few months back). Their descriptions were right on - a
hell of a job, time consuming(took me all day), and very nerve-
wracking at times when you've removed all the fasteners from a panel
or the bumper and now you have to yank on it hard to get the
tabs/pins that secure it out. I only broke 2 little insignificant
plastic tabs off(invisible with panels replaced), which I consider
not too bad - the bumper and all panels still secure very well.
Also, I probably put a few extra scratches in things that the Honda
tech would not have, but that's okay, I plan to drive it into the
ground. The instructions are pretty good, only was confused a couple
times on some wiring issues or when they didn't specify which way to
yank something.

Overall, I would say this was not an easy job, though doable with a
lot of patience and some beer(too much could lead to more broken bits
though!). I think Honda makes it difficult so you will have the
dealer do it. Now that it's over, I feel good about doing it myself,
but if you plan to trade in your CRV and/or want to keep it pristine,
or are easily frustrated with instructions and taking things apart,
have the dealer do it. This was about ten times as hard as installing
the Hidden Hitch.
thanks for the info, Larry

One more thing: do not attempt this if you are a very large and/or
inflexible person - a few times I found myself very contorted in the
cabin or jammed in under the dash.

Go to http://www.hondasuv.com/main/index.php and check out the
article on how to install the fogs so they work with the park lights.
It takes most of the work out of the "inside" part of the job.
As for the bumper, seems iff you kind of "Shake" it off rather
than "Pull" it off you can avoid breaking the clips.

Unfortunately, I discovered one side affect of my fog light installation -
the AC light comes on and appears to work, but the air definitely is not
cooling, where it previously worked very well. I may have wiggled a wire
loose somewhere or missed plugging something in. Any ideas? I checked the
ACG and compressor fuses, both are well. I did override the "AC always on
with defrost" circuit with the sequence someone offered here a few months
back, I may reverse that though I doubt that is the problem. thanks, Larry

P.S. thanks for the Honda SUV site reference, looks good but I haven't
ponied up the $$ to join yet. I wish I had known about the wiring option to
have them come on with the parking lights and avoid most of the cabin work,
that sounds good, though I wouldn't want to replace the bulbs any more
frequently than necessary given the labor involved.

AC issue;
I would bet that that you didd not get one connector back together
when you reasembled the center dash.
Glad I never took mine apart.
I would not think it has anything to do with the reprogramming, as I
did that also and it has worked flawlessly.

Honda-SUV;
Not sure, but I think you can register for the forums without paying.
Try, as it is well worth it.
