Hey, I love the way this car sounds. I've been driving it for a week and put
750
miles on it. Yay, breakin done. It kinda sounds like a tiger's low growl at
low
to medium revs. rwwwoaaarrrrr. All understated power. Very graceful at low
revs
and it seems totally content and graceeful while commuting in the yuppie hell
traffic. Something wild lurks beneath that clever disguise though. I keep
thinking this car "speaks softly and carries a big stick", like some president
said.
Q: Does anybody know why it does that "knock" thing when you're shifting into
2nd
and 3rd? It feels like the transmission bumps or "catches" halfway into the
shifts. I don't think I like it. I want it to be smooth and eloquent like the
rest of the car.
I saw something about a service bulletin of the grinding gears, but don't know
if
this is the same, it just sorta feels like a "click" or notch that's grabbing.
And
I thought that would have only been in the 2000 model - seems like they'd fix it
in
the second year(?)
Any comments/help appreciated.
