Hi. Just bought a 2001 CRV. ( Canadian Model ) I started to look
under the hood to see how emergency repairs may be made if necessary.
I'm stumped by the engine belts. How do you change them?
Also thinkmg of replacing the air filter with a K&N filter and the
spark plugs with the Bosch Platinum 4 point plugs. Would appreciate
feedback from anyone who has used these products in their CRV.

I wouldn't bother with the Bosch 4 point plugs - they make a barely discernable,
if any, difference, and are way too expensive for what you get back. I
like the K&N filter that I installed on mine, but I didn't use the
drop-in filter - I made a new intake to create more room under the hood
for other goodies.

The K&N air filter works great, as do the bosh platium +4 spark plug. I
have both of them in mine.

I just read your email, I have owned about 8 Honda's, but I am stumped by emergency repairs--that happens with Honda's?
 
I looked in my service manual about the belts, just loosen the idler pulley's to remove the A/C then the Alt.
 
The drop in K&N was a wonderful addition
