Has anyone had problems with their factory cd player
in extreme heat and humidity? I have a 1998 CRV EX
with the cd player and the last few days the player
works fine going to work, but after sitting in the
parking lot in the 90+ heat and high humidity, the
player won't read any cd's. It gives me a code (P-eo I
believe...it's the same code I get if I put in a
CD-RW). I leave my moonroof open and windows down a
bit so not to build up heat, but that doesn't help. I
would appreciate any input!

Thanks, Greg

I believe that your problem is actually your CDs and
not the player....

Take the CDs to work with you and see if that solves
the problem.

I make custom CD-R's and they play fine in my factory 1999 CR-V CD player,
CD-RW only play in a few newer aftermarket units.
A cd player cleaner may help, because in the hot humid southern summers my
CD player has yet to fail, not so for a BEL radar detector that melted
almost entirely!!

I had an Accord with a similar problem. The CD player did not work when it got
extremely hot. The Honda dealer replaced the CD player and it was fine from
then on. Is your car still under warranty?

Good luck

Thanks Ron,

I go in for my 30,000 next week so I will check it out
with the dealer. Who knows maybe it will be covered.
It now is starting to act up on the way to work as
well.
