I am buying 99 CRV EX with 51k miles and was offered a 7 year
100,000 mile extended warranty - for $800. Should I buy or not?
Let me know what you think or what your repair experiences have been
with your CRVs.

Hi,

Very same situation here. I just bought a 99 Honda CR-V with 59K miles on it. I
am looking around for warranties. One third-party offer was
$1300/=. It covered almost everything, including electricals/electronics.

Can you please tell me who offered you that $800/= warranty and what all is
covered? Send me private e-mail, if you feel the need to be discrete about it.

Thanks and regards,

Honda sells its own extended warranty. Very reasonable pricing and good
coverage. (I.e. I had 2 sway bar bushing wear out. The extended warranty
would have covered them but it has a $25 deductible and the bushings were
only $4.95 each)

I should have mentioned that I am located in Canada... I don't know what
Honda U.S.A. offers in terms of an extended warranty.

Bad news (for me!).

The local Honda dealer does not sell warranties on vehicles NOT purchased f=
rom them. Called Honda. They won't sell warranties on vehicles older than 42=
months (mine was originally purchased in Feb '99).

So, I am seriously considering taking the offer of $1,050/=, 4 year, 100,00=
0 miles warranty. It has full coverage, except radio(?).

Will appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
