I keep hearing the tire noise gripe, try the Michelin XGT H4 235/60R-15 on the factory CR-V alloys or my favorite;
Yokohama Avid S/T 235/60R-15's around $46 + $5 each for shipping from the http://www.tirerack.com
They handle nicely and have excellent straight line tracking for the tight CR-V steering set-up--oopss did I forget quiet.

I second that motion on the quietness and handling of the Yokohama's Avid on 235/60/15. I have 6,000 miles now after only a few months and I'm very happy with this tire so far.

Thanks, I have 27K miles on the tires, I was wondering on responses from other owners since I stand behind this tire!!
YOKOHAMA AVID S/T 235/60R-15
I think it is very very important to rotate them every 5K miles due to them being much wider than stock.
I DEFINITELY don't recommend going with 245's, maybe 225's for suspension modified or lower V's.

Thanks a bunch Michael, glad you are pleased.
I put a Honda sticker on the hardcover with a red reflective "H".  I think it looks pretty cool and fills the empty space, not mention a little added safety at night.

SALTMAN,

Well, I have aftermarket 15" rims which are 7" instead of 6 or 6.5 (I forget which one the stock rims are). Now I have noticed that it looks for some reason like the tires have gotten wider on the rim as they broke in good - where they used to line up evenly with the outside of the fender lip, now there is a little overhang. Nevertheless, because my rim is a little wider and I like the look of a taller tire in the wheel well I am 70/30 sure I will try 245/60 when the time comes for replacement. These tires are so inexpensive it won't be that big of a hit if I end up having to sell them and stick with the 235s.

BTW - nice cover!

Does anyone have any concerns that altering the profile (from 70 to 60 series) will negatively affect handling, stability, ground clearance, warranty?

Well, those might be a concern with some sizes, but if you compare the specs of the Yokohama Avid 235/60/15 with the oem bridgestone 205/70/15 you will see that tires are very very close in diameter. The 235/60 is a few mm shorter and so has a few rotations extra per mile than the stock. The variance between this AVID and stock is less than any of the other tire size changes I've seen V owners go with (225/70, 215/70, etc.)  Ground clearance isn't much of an issue, the V sits only moderately lower. Handling and stability are GREATLY improved due to wider stance and tread design. Believe me, it is like driving a totally different vehice with the 235/60 on. No more body-roll going into corners, much safer feel all around. As far as warranty, that I would defer to the experts on. I recently had my car in for buffing at the dealer and asked service guy, he said the warranty is voided IF an aftermarket wheel/tire mod is found to be the cause of some problem. With the set I have on, it shouldn't be an issue.

Well stated Michael, the 245's may be OK on aftermarket wider but I am confident they would strain the factory narrower rims.
