You can think of oil as the blood of your engine (hope that isn't too graphic) so engine treatments are very important IMO. Just don't go with the cheapest out there and you'll be fine.

I don't use oil additives because it seems to me that the oil manufacturers go through great trouble to make the best stuff they can. If they needed to add something in there, don't you think they would? Save your money.
