Hi,

I took in my new 2002 CRV ex into my dealer to have them see what
code came up because my engine light had come on and then went off
again. At first they tried to tell me that because the light was now
off the computer wouldn't be able to pick up a code. I told them that
they were wrong and if they hooked up the computer they would get an
answer because it's stored in the vehicles onboard computer, I never
disconnected the battery. This is what they said:

Gee your right, the code did come up! It was 230 DTC P1164 which
meant that one of the emission sensors was bad. Now they told me that
they replaced it on several other CRV's and the light still came on
so they called Honda of America. They were told that it's a computer
glitch and it should be worked out and corrected soon, in the mean
time the CRV's are safe to drive. I personally feel that my sensor
had some sort of anti cease grease on it and after it burned off it
now works just fine now. Time will tell. As of yet my light has
remained off!
