I live in Ontario, Canada and I've driven my Civic in all kinds of weather including snow. I'm surprised how well it does in snow considering how low to the ground it is.

How do you find Civics function in extreme weather?

Well i was really surprised when i was driving in extremely heavy rain during a traffic jam. The traffic would speed up to about 45 mph (on the highway) and then come to a sudden stop. many cars rearended each other but not my little honda! it stopped on a dime!

Depends what tires you’re running if you’ve got tires designed for rain or snow the car should stop just fine.

When I've replaced two tires at a time, they put the new ones on the front.

I think the front wheel drive is great for winter driving, based on my experience after my first car which was a Chev Monza.

The Toyotas and the Civic were much better in the snow.

I found that my civic (5 speed standard) will go through any snow as long as it is not too deep to hang up the undercarriage. I was caught in noreaster once - no snowplows out yet - the road was horrible. A guy in a Hummer was trying to keep up with me. We met at a traffic light, and boy was he pissed as he looked down at me!!

Bravo! That is funny. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap.gif)

What year is your Civic? I assume the later years are even better in the snow because they're higher off the ground.

Sorry, I just noticed that you drive a 2002. I forgot about the feature of this forum that mentions our cars.

I love the front wheel drive. I cannot stand to drive any car in the winter that doesn't have it. I never knew that changing just two tires was better.

Sorry, I just happened to buy two at a time a few times, and I believe the theory was to put the newest ones on the front for steering and front wheel drive considerations.

I guess that would make sense to put the newer tires on the front since it is front wheel drive. Thanks for the tip.

I am glad to buy the Honda Civic 95 model, the old car was worse on a snow road, it would just get stuck up in the middle of the way to office or back home or shopping, but this car wheels are really good on any road. I am happy this winter would go on well.

Well it looks like I will get to find out how the new tires will work. We are getting buried in the snow right now.

That is where I am at also is Ohio. It got nasty there for awhile. Glad to see it finally clear up. That is what is bad about living in the country getting plows out that way is next to impossible.

Hopefully you have four wheel drive? I so hate those long driveways and the back roads.
