Check the manual, the remotes are programmable with different locking configurations.
I know I had to re-program mine, for what to do on the locks when placing in park. Makes sence you would reprogram the remote locking too.

Same problem was found on my friends Vehicle but all the information was available clearly in the manual, I guess it should be helpful to you.

THANKS FOR THE ADVICE. I TRIED THE ON - OFF SEQUENCE 4 TIMES IN LESS THAN 10 SECONDS. I HEARD THE LOCKS MOVE, BUT NOW THE REMOTE WILL NOT EVEN WORK. I WILL GO GET A SERVICE MANUAL AND TRY AGAIN.

I was wondering if you could buy a new remote for your car? Perhaps if you had a new one it would work for you. I know they are expensive, but it would probably be worth it in the end.

Sounds like your actuator is broken in the driver's door. Need to order the part and replace. You'll need to remove the door panel. Mine is bad too, but I have yet to replace it.
