My 2006 CRV makes a squeaking noise when the AC is turned on and I am stopped or in park. Sometimes the car makes the sound even when it is turned off. My mechanic (not the dealer) said that the 06 were having AC problems and now I am concerned. When I took the car to the dealer for the problem they said the car checked out fine. My car has about 18000 miles on it. Any ideas as to possible problems would be great!

If it's squeaking or squalling, I would push the dealer to repair it while it's still under warranty.
Talk to your sales person, thier number 1 goal should be to keep you happy and want you as a repeat customer.

I have had this same exact problem. My issue with it was that it made that sound only when it is in park, most of the time with the engine running and the AC on low. Today, i heard the same loud 'squeek' or 'deep whistling' right after I turned the AC off. The Sound comes on about 5 minutes after the car is in park with the engine still running. I sent the car to the dealership but apparently, they could not hear any sounds. I am still on warranty so I think I will have it fully checked although I do not know what to have themdo or exactly how to describe what I am hearing. Or should I just say 'check the AC'??? Any help is welcomed (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
