OK first of all, I am thinking about a couple of things with my car, one i wnat to put a non-power antenna on my car, and i was kinda thinking of putting it above my dome light, on the back window frame piece, I saw a really nice looking antenna on one at a car show that i believe to be off of an Acura MDX, or something of the like.. my biggest issue is that i dont know if the old "Power" antenna is broken or just disconnected, if its disconnected, then i will connect it and see whats up, however i havent seen any wires running to it other than the antenna wire. I have a '93 Si, so age might have taken its toll on it. I just got it in November, and i love the car to death.. I race it legally at the track here, 1/8 mi Drag strip, and my best time is a 10.242 with a reaction time of .521 not bad for a newbie. I have hit 120,000 miles as of tonight, and am thinking of alot of things i want to do to the car. is there any way to get more bass out of my trunk? i have a JL 10" sub in the trunk of my car and its well powered, yet i get no base up front where i want to hear it. My other speakers are awsome, Boston Acustics Pro series 6.5 components all the way around, yes thats 4 speakers, of the best speakers made EVER. anyways Dave Matthews Band is really lacking without the Bass. i am kinda thinking about putting in a JL Stelthbox, but have no idea of what it will sound like. 850.00 is alot to spend without knowing what it will acutally do(i dont like to take peopls word for something, especially when they are the Salesman). has anyone ever heard the stealthbox? is it worth the $$$.$$? how hard would it be to make my own "stealthbox"? anyone have pitures of the stealthbox, they would be willing to email me? anyone have a stealthbox that lives in the San Diego Area, and would be willing to let me listen to it? ok.. maybe that last one is asking a bit much... anywyas.. i am going to start making little things out of carbon fiber, and plan on making the Roof, Trunk, and Filler pannel out of C/F if anyone is interested, tlet me know, and i will keep them posted on the progress.. I will porbably start with the filler pannel first, i am making it just liek the JDM design but only one piece rather than the 3 piece, it will light from the sides, (not the top) and will be set up for the US style license plate.. anyways.. i hope to hear something back, Ray

there's a good chance the powered antenna isn't.  I have a 93 si too and it didn't come with a power antenna. I am not sure if it was an option on the 93's.  It's been a long time since I heard anything about the jl stealthbox. I seem to remember some people who bought it, wasn't impressed with it. For bass I took out my spare and added a 12" sub into a new trunk floor. When I go on long trips I just throw the spare in. It takes up less room then a sub box that way.

so its not a power antenna.. that would explain why its not "plugged" in, and it would also make sense i guess... as for the sub Idea, i am seriously thinking about that.. i have 15 inch rims with low pro's and dont have a real spare anywyas.. i still have my old rims and plan on taking a 5000 mile Road Trip this summer, from San Diego, CA to Charleston, SC and Back... I cant Wait... i will be stopping into Oklahoma City, OK ,Nashville, TN, and then Atlanta, GA. and finally going into Charleston. anyways.. i will be needing a spare when i go, even though i work for Discount Tire Co. i might pick up a Spare rim so that i wont look like a wierdo when i am on the trip if i have a problem. anyways.. thanks for the info. and BTW 195/50 ZR 15's are really responsive with the del sol, and it doesnt effect the gas milage, nor the speedometor, and the car still has enough powere to Burnout through 1st, and 2nd at the drag strip. just a little food for thought.

I have 16's on mine now, but I want to get some 15's for autocross. one way to tell if it's a power antenna is if it has a huge piece at the end for the motor and mechanism that extends and retracts the antenna. I mention that cause I don't know the history of your sol and its possible a previous owner added one but never hooked it up.
