Has anyone heard this in 02 AT EX? after the car is started with the
gear in Park, pressing and releasing the brake would cause a click
sound from the steering column. similar sound occurs when the car
comes to a stop or moves from the stop position (coincides with
pressing and releasing the break). Dealer said it's normal with 02
CRV.. Any insight would be appreciated. -mc

the shift lock release is what you're hearing...It allows for the gear
selector to not be moved out of park unless the brake is applied. You're
hearing the solenoid release the shift mechanism everytime you hit the
brake.
