Can anyone give me some instructions on how to clear the amber color out of my headlights? My car is a 96 EX. Thanks!

If you're referring to 95 and older Civic's, the clear turn signals are actually replacement lamps which are available in almost every performance store (and auction sites like eBay) in regular clear, jdm clear or euro clear styles. Mostly under $20.

96 and newer Civics have the turn signals built in the headlamp. They sell all clear headlamps (even projector style headlamps) without the amber lense for the turn signals but those are definately more expensive.

If you want to know how to replace them, for 95 and older Civic's, just pop open the hood and you'll see one screw holding the turn signal lamp into the headlight assembly frame.

96 and older Civic's you'll need to know how to remove the whole headlamp and replace it with the all clear ones.

That's all there is to it.

Yeah, i was tried to remove the entire headlamp. When I opened the hood, i saw there were two bolts holding it in. I removed those, and it wouldn't come out. I can tell that it is being held in elsewhere, but cannot see where it is being held in. I saw in the owners manual that to replace the bulbs (if one burns out) that i have to go through the wheel well. I tried that, but couldn't get the wheel well pulled back, for fear that i would bend it more than was necessary. DO i still need to go through there in order to free the headlamp???

What year is your Civic? I have a 95 and each lamp has four 10mm bolts holding it in place. Two on top and one on each side. Not sure for 96 and newer Civics though (probably the same thing).

Double check that "wheel well entry" for replacing bulbs. A task like that shouldn't be THAT hard to do.

I have a 2002. The newest. There is two 10 mm bolts on top. I haven't checked the sides. Last time when i took out the two 10 mm on top, i was able to slightly move the light, but couldn't tell by feel where it was still connected.

If i remember correctly, it's kinda hard to see the sides, cause the engine compartment is compacted. (hood is smaller than a 95). But I'll check anyways.

I'll check on the sides though. The wheel well felt really stiff, but i guess that's cause it's new. I also gotta do it when my parents aren't home, cause they don't want me to do anything to it. I'm "prepping" it for when I go away to college. I'm seeing how to do the different things, so it won't be that hard when i go to do it.

thanks for the info on where the bolts are (the ones i didn't get.) i don't think they would have cahnged the position of the bolts over the years, since it doesn't really matter as long as the headlight doesn't fall out while you're driving. :)

-morgan
