Hi there,                       I have my aftermarket alloys off now and was hoping to polish them up prior to next spring.  I have used autosol in the past which worked O.K. but was wondering what other products people have used and what were your impressions on the results.  My rims are also clear coated.  Thanks.       Gary.

Hey gary, Just curious, what kind aftermarket rims do you have. I thinking of buying some 17" for my 1.6EL and i'm not sure which style of rims look nice on EL. You have a 1.6 if i remember correcly right? Any input or pics (from anyone) would be appreciated. Thanks. By the way I use a product called Eagle1 on the stock rims and i think it works well.

I have a set of ASA rims. They are five spoked and is 16" x 7.5" . Looks great and would like to keep it that way. Thanks. Sorry, I don't have any pics. of them. Gary.

I would just recommend washing them with normal car wash soap and then applying some wax afterwards. Car wash shouldn't hurt the clear coat, whereas I've heard some specific rim cleaner products can strip the clear coat because they are so strong. The wax is for making cleaning in the future easier as well as adding a layer of wax protection. Which is especially useful for preventing scouring by acidic brake dust.
