Hi All,

I'm new to this board, and let me say first, Happy New Year.

I'm looking at buying a new or nearly new CR-V (New shape), but I have three children and need the ability to put the 3 child seats across the rear seat, does anyone know if this is possibl, do any of you do this?

The seats would be 2 x boasters with headrest and one forward facing seat for a 2 year old.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks

Chris

Welcome, and I have five daughters who have ridden with car seats. I usually have a regular car seat and a booster seat in the back seat. I have put them side by side before. Now that the girls are older, I only have one left in a booster seat. I keep her in the rear of the van. Virginia law has them in a booster seat until age 8.

This thread reminds me of an anecdote I heard from a limousine driver. He spent about 10 minutes trying to release the child seat of a client.

I guess the mother usually had another driver or staff member deal with the seat, so she wasn't familiar with it. And the driver himself was in his 50s and had never had children, so he didn't know how it worked.

Anybody travelling in a car with a child seat should know how it releases in case of an emergency.

You really bring up a good point. Some of the car seats have releases who knows where. Because they are all different. Even firemen get stuck with those. Have the Mom show you how to use it. Then you are the well informed about it.

If you don't have kids carseats can be a real pain to figure out. I remember my Mom having trouble getting the carrier back into the base once and had to have someone help her. It was second nature to me so I just never thought to show her.
