For those folks who have the 97-00 1.6, do you find the slide thermostat setting flimsy or have they broke on you a couple of times? Would anyone think that a center console from a Civic with the knobs be able to replace the one for the EL? Vicman

Victor, I was looking to do the same thing. My friend owns a 2000 Civic Si and it looks like the panels are identical. The only thing that worries me is the vents, they don't match up exactly in the front, but if the air ducts behind it are the same I don't see why not. Plus it will give an extra slot in the dash... I found a place in Kitchener called Logel's (www.logels.com) that apparently has the part for about $100. (search online for parts available). If you find it cheaper elsewhere, let me know, I want to do the same. Jonathan

Vic, I'm looking to do the same for my car too. I've found a place called Logel's in Kitchener that sells the temp control for $75. but all they are selling is literally the knob assembly and the buttons. I have inquired about the whole panel, they have yet to reply. I will keep you posted. Jonathan

I think a salvage yard, or the CRX classifieds at resource.crx.org would be your best bet. Not sure what the prices will be like, but $20 or so seems fair to me.
