1999 CDR ex. My factory cd player works fine for the first cd or if
you eject it after about half the disk plays, then it hunts for a
while and displays an error message -- cant read cd. If you wait
awhile then try again, it starts up and repeats the process. Anyone
have this problem and if so, what do you do? I am over the warranty
period.

Try getting a CD player cleaner first of all and see
if that helps. A similar problem happened this last
summer with my '98 CRV's factory player. Anytime the
car sat in the real hot sun, when I went to play the
CD it just gave me a code on the panel and wouldn't
play the CD. I fortunately was still in my warrantee
period and they replaced it no questions asked. Good
