Hi there,
I got my gen 4 lude dead cheap, after a short while, I found
out why. Sometimes she just wouldnt start, the starter turning, but no
egnition, and a couple of times she just cut out while I was driving
casualy. Took me a full day to narrow it down, but there was a problem
with the ignition key switch. At first i noted the power to the low
tention on the coil was at about 7-8volts, and between there, there is
just the switch, a fuse and then its straight to the battery. I just
took the switch out and cleaned it up(It looked clean anyway) and I
gave it a real good spray up with WD40. I have had no probs since. I
do have a bi pass wire now though, just incase, Its just a wire with
spade conectors at each end, which I can quickly conect between the
fuse and the coil. Its a bit dodgey, but it would get you out of an
emergency, Just remember to disconect it when you stop.
Hope thats some help to you.
Paul.
