The Mrs. had a slight accident and I need to replace the front bumper
cover, which is the charcoal grey colored plastic piece up front.
The total cost is 250.00 bucks including labor. The actual part is
only 185.00 dollars (USD). I thought I could save a few bucks by
just installing the piece myself. Has anyone done this or know if
there are special tools involved? Seems like a piece of cake to me.

I was shocked to find out that the part was that inexpensive, seeing
as my other car ( a Ford) had the same problem and the part was
nearly 900.00.

Thanks,
DAvid

David,

Been there - I replaced my bumper cover, LF fender, a couple of
brackets, and left headlight after Bambi committed suicide.

The bumper cover is pretty easy. Just start taking out every connector
that holds it in - it seems like they never end!!

I had a bit of a tough time getting the new one on, probably because of
the upper bracket. It took a couple of tries, then it just went right
back on.

No special tools needed. Just screwdriver(s), and probably a 10mm
ratchet/socket to make things easier.

If you go to http://www.handa-accessories.com/ and look for the
foglights under accessories, you can get the PDF file that details
installing them. Part of the job is to remove the front bumper cover, as I
recall.

Appreciate it David M.
I finished the job in about an hour. Saved me about 2 hours of labor
charges. Pheew! What a relief to do something myself. FWIW, the
directions to remove are on the FOG LAMP accessory directions soemone
sent to me.
