Hello everyone! Just need a little info!

When I went to check my oil this morning, the hood release latch was a little stiff, but it gave. I opened the hood, checked the oil, then when I close it, the hood wouldn't latch. I went around to the release inside the car and it is loose and doesn't lay flat, so I am assuming the cable broke. How difficult is this to repair? How much would it cost to do it myself? (If it's easy enough) Is it a costly repair to take to a shop? Any assistance is greatly appreciated, thank you! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

not hard at all really, ifnding the new cable might be the hardest part. check junk yards first then call a dealer for a price. i put one on a 92 civic hatch but already had a junk car to get it off of lol. i think u have to have to start in the car and run it that way the firewall is a **** but its not that bad.

I agree! The cable is not really that hard to replace. What's hard is the sourcing of the parts. As what ghostcivic said, try looking at junkyards and surplus car parts.
