I wish I would have had a camera but my husband and I were out and we seen one of these cars painted a bright pink. And I mean bright. So my question is why in the world would you spend this amount of money for a new car and paint it this kind of a color? It was just a strange sight.

Wow. That's definitely not factory - they've never offered pink, though they have had red and (ugh) orange available on new Elements.

You're right that it most definently not factory made. I just cannot understand why anyone would paint a car that color or that bright of a pink?

Factory colors are always subdued and nothing hot or neon looking. I can always tell when someone does their own version with paint colors. That happens with cars and houses.

I somehow don't like pink, anyways is that color his favorite?? I don't understand what might have been running his mind to get it painted to that color. How did you react the moment you viewed it??

Was it some kind of promotion, like those pink cars driven by Mary Kay salespeople?

I also wonder how often a car like that would get pulled over by the police. Decades ago I had two cousins with identical Chevelles. One was green and one was red. The red one was pulled over more.

I've noticed that the Elements seem to be used a lot in my area as cars that have advertising on them (as used by a business). Scions are also pretty popular.

I never thought about it being painted for business' purposes. I didn't notice any writing on it advertising a business though.

I haven't noticed a trend of makes, but I'm definitely seeing more smaller cars in my area that are basically rolling billboards.

I wonder how much those people get paid to advertise on their cars like that?

I have one of my friend with such advertising on his car and he makes around $1000 per month, I am not sure if he surely does but he says that the pay is around that figure. He just drives it for few hours per week and says a good money for college fee.

If that was accurate, I'd say that was a great deal. To be honest, I have trouble imagining that the advertisements on the cars that I've seen would generate that kind of money.

I think I've heard more in the range of the low hundreds per month.

You mean to tell me there might be that kind of money to advertise on your car for certain companies? Heck if that is the case I might just consider doing that.

Actually I checked out a company locally which really does provide such kind of payment, I would rather say I would be willing to go for it but none are ready to make me take up ads on the car. Some companies do provide such money to drive their cars with advertisements over it, hope that is known.

How would you go about find places that want people to do this? I just have never heard of this unless you are actually working for the company that wants to advertise.

I have seen few of the work at home job options where in they mention some jobs which are paid to drive. Through them may be we can find such jobs which can be done from home. I am not sure about the pay though. Check out:

Wow, thanks for that link. There are quite a lot of links on that site. I have bookmarked it to check out when I have some free time. Thanks for sharing that.

I wonder how much money someone could make by approaching companies on their own and offering to display advertisements on their cars, rather than participating in an otherwise organized campaign?

I don't know but I guess it couldn't hurt to try to do it on your own. I am sure that some might not have ever thought about having people do this and pay them for it.

Yeah, trying it for once would be surely letting one know how far the job is best for you. It wouldn't hurt to give anything a try and later check out if we can go ahead further.

Actually, Taggart, there are advertising companies that will pay you to put ads on your car. Eligibility and amount depends on where you live, how much you drive and what your car is.
