Is anyone having premature fault problems with Honda automatic transmissions? I am the original owner of a 97 Civic EX with 76K miles. The a/t is shot, and I'm looking at what I think is very early replacement. The NHTSA has several complaints about this type of problem, but no investigation has been launched. One complainant was successful in getting Honda to pay for half the repairs, but that's the best result I've found so far. There are two service bulletins (TSBs) that may be relevant, but Honda has shut down the public access to bulletins. I'd like to hear from others about whether they have experienced similar problems and what they've done. It's been a great car, other than my current problem of it not running without major rework. Thanks.
