Hey i'm new to this site but am looking for help. I have a 2007 Honda Civic si and am looking to do some audio work to it. I own all the equipment i need to install my subs and amps but i cant find a website for the wire diagram. I am trying to install the subs into the stock headunit because it is a decent system and i am lacking $300 to buy a decent unit. but i would like to install my subs asap because they are just sitting in my trunk. A friend told me about connecting them directly to the rear speakers. any ideas? thanks

Sorry I don't have any experience with subs, but if you connect them directly to the rear speakers I'd think that you'd want to make sure that the impedance was still right for the combined load.

Best of luck with the project. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/s12.gif)

You can run wires from the rear speakers to a converter, then RCA's to your amp. That's the easiest way. The only downside is that if you upgrade your head, then you have to run longer RCA's from the new head.

i work in car audio don't hook your subs directly to the speakers......u can go to a local audio shop and get a line out converter, usually aren't expensive....there are 4 wires white, white/black and gray, gray/black....hook both the white/black, gray/black to the darker wire at the speaker and the white, gray to the light colored wire....u might as well use a full 17' RCA's so when u get ur new head unit u wont have to buy new.....the line out has RCA outs to run to ur amp...for your remote wire the accessory wire can be found under the drivers dash, its a thick orange wire or behind your radio u can use the purple, lt. blue, or gray wire

Yes. It's about $125 from hondaparts.com

Personally I'd not do that. Don't know where you live, but around here a 10 disc CD changers and
Radio with cassette is about $250 (Blaupunkt). It's really nice having the CD changer (I have the
Alpine which is the same as the Honda hooked to the factory radio with no cassette).

I just bought a 99 ex with the single CD player. My wife want a tape
deck to play Books on tape. Can you add a cassette deck to the factory
radio with the CD player?
Mark A

Yes you can. Very easy. I would advice buying the cassette deck through
Honda parts .com
You'll save a lot of cash and retain a stock look and perfect fit.

They sell a half din tape deck at pacific audio:
http://www.pacific-audio.com/specials.html

I don't know if it is compatible with the cd player that honda sells, but it
is only $29.95.
