Hi all Im currently running a stock '93 2.2 VTEC auto and am not at all mechanically minded. I am looking at upgrading the air intake and was wondering if anyone could impart any advice or suggestions as to which one to get or other methods for increased bhp. Thanks. Steve.

Steve the best air intake is one that draws in cold air from out side the engine bay. Most people go for an induction kit that finishs in the engine bay. Can't see why as it draws in hot air. What I have done on my v-tec is replace the stock filter with a K&N one, taken the resonator box(behind front bumper off) cut the bottom of the airbox off. This allows cold air to be fed into the system from just underneath the bumper. I have noticed an increase in pick-up and I still have the money in my wallet!

How did you remove the resonator box behind the bumper?? I've been trying to figure this one out as at the moment I have a BMC Carbon Filter (Sealed carbon box) which is sitting to the left of the battery, I'd like to run some ducting from the bumper and connect to this filter. (At the moment the filter is running about 5 degrees lower than the outside temp)

You have to remove the drivers inner wheel plastic arch cover which gives access, you also have to remove the indicator. There was a website that had the instructions on will try to look it up.

Thanks guys, gives me something to consider. What about chips and vtec controllers? I've heard the controllers are a waste of time and that you shouldnt mess with the timing for the Vtec cut in?
