My Acura 3.2 TL is supposed to be serviced 7500
miles (for oil changes). I got a letter from my dealer
to do it in 3750 miles...

Is this just a
marketing push or is there any value in me trying to do it
on a 3 month schedule?

Thanks!

Hi akn,

Our '93 Vigor has been serviced
every 6000 Km (3750 miles) since day one. It now has
over 186K km and it works GREAT! Usually the way it
works is that every second service is just an oil,
filter and wash (sometimes more). It's up to you. I'd go
for the shorter inervals though. Hope this
helps!

CW

Its my understanding that Acura says a 7500 mile
service (every 7500 miles). My dealer recommends an oil
change in between (every 3750 miles). They did more at
7500 than just an oil change and even more at 15000.
They also said the first oil change at 3750 was
important since the initial oil was some special type to
help break in the engine and should be changed out at
3750.

I don't know if all this is correct - just telling
you what I was told.

Hello, sorry to reply this e-mail this late. But
I have always do my oil change @ 3,750 miles no
matter what. It may cost you more, but it will make it
more smooth for you to drive. I hoep this
helps.

--CKL--
