Last spring, the alarm system on my Accord 2002 SE started on its own one morning several times. I went to the dealer, asked them to disable my alarm system, I think they changed a piece with some kind of bearing in it and the alarm didn't start again... until last thursday night. It did it once early in the evening, then once again later at night. My quick solution was to unplug the battery, and after a search over the internet, I found that maybe a weak battery was at fault (mine was 8 years old, I don't use my car that much and it's quite cold right now up here). I changed the battery, everything was fine, and the alarm started again the day after, again early in the evening, three times... I did a quick Google search and found that I could disable the alarm system by inserting the key in the ignition, turn upward until all electronics are on, then turn one click backward (all dashboard lights turn off), then on my remote I press lock-unlock-lock. When I exited the car, the alarm system's light in the driver's door flashed just once (after a few seconds) then that's it, I thought my system was disabled. When I took my car later at night, I noticed the alarm system had reenabled itself alone (the light was flashing) and when I tried to disable it again, I wasn't able to do it.

So... what do I do?!? Have you ever had this problem? How do I disable permanently the alarm system? Your income is very welcome...

Thanks.

Hi, I am not sure 100% if it is going to work or not, but try to take out alarm relay that is lockated under the hood in the fusse compartment box. It is thrid one from the left. The frist two are for the lightening system. You will see it on the relay is writing what is it for

let me know if it works my sugestion. I have problem with brake light fuse. It is burning out every time I press horn, but my horn does not work due to alarm malufunction. My alarm used to go off by itself and one time the horn just stoped working. After that I had problem with fuse brake light while using horn unintentionaly. Yesterday I have removed horn (alarm) relay, the one I explained to you, and now my fuse does not burns out if I press horn. Also my cruise control is affected due to horn, fuse itc..

Well, that was kind of simple..! So as you told me, I simply took out the horn relay under the hood. I checked my braking lights and everything seem to work fine. I did not however tried to press the horn to see if it burnt the brake fuse, but before testing the lights, I pressed the lock and panic buttons on the remote and then checkked the brake lights. So I guess that at least, locking my door won't burn any fuse (I haven't tried the cruise control yet), I'll see if it's still the case the next time I press the horn (which almost never happens...)

Thanks!

Well, the horn relay is operating cruise control, which means you won't have cruise without horn relay
