Yeah, I just upgraded mine, but I took the
cheaper route. I still paid a little over $1000,
though.

When I get home today I can get you the brand names of
the stuff they used. But basically I had the door
speakers replaced with some really awesome ones (don't
know the name yet) that were the same size, so no
cutting or routing necessary.

I kept the stock
radio, but the added in a "filter" like device that
converts the signal from the radio down to 1 watt, which
is then fed into the amp where it can be amped up
with a richer sound quality. A very important
component for just $40!

In the back we removed the
tool kit from the trunk that revealed a HUGE recess
there (I wrapped the tools and placed them on top of
the spare). We put in a 4 channel Eclipse amp (2 for
the front, 2 for the sub woofer), then placed a 10"
sub in a kick box right on top. They were able to
make the box so that it fit flush with the floor of
the trunk. No real waste nor loss of space! I asked
if it was ok to continue to store the convertible
top cover on top of the speaker and they said it
would be fine. They just installed a grill on it to
protect it.

It definately sounds a hell of a lot
better than it did before! But I can see how a better
radio and maybe two 10" subs would really kick up the
thump. Just one 10" sub doesn't always give me the umph
I want. And a better radio would certainly give you
more control over the sound spectrum, versus the silly
bass and treble knobs on the stock radio.

And I
can still add in a CD changer at anytime that will
work in conjunction with the stock radio. Very cool.
And cheaper than Honda's changer, for sure.

If
you are interested, I can get you exactly what was
put into mine, just let me know..

Hope this
helps!

RR
