I bought my CRV used, it is a 98, i think i bought it in july of 2000, it happened i think a year later, I remember the mileage was about 38,000 , just out of warranty!! I did have an extended warranty and it payed for itself 2 times over , the cost of the repair at the dealer was $ 1400.00 if i remember right. Mine was making a strange noise every once in a while which i couldnt replicate for the dealer, then one day i was out driving around and it really started making a loud noise, i shut the ac off and drove straight to the dealer. I had the service advisor come out and told him what it was doing and he started up the CRV and kicked on the ac and boom  it blew a hole the size of a quarter in the compressor. The entire bill was covered by the extended warranty except for something like $ 60 or something for some bogus thing like a " flush" i was told it was fully covered when i brought it in and when i picked it up they hand me the bill, i raised all kinds of hell but it was the end of the day and there was no one to complain to. I paid it under protest and then really started raising hell with EVERYONE at the dealer and Honda of America, it took me over a month and at least 10 calls to the service manager but i finally got my money back. I also told them to NEVER send me anything from this dealership again and that i would never bring my car back there. They didnt send me anything for at least a year , then i got a letter from the sales dept saying they would give me $ 50 if i referred anyone to the dealer that bought a car. I sent the same letter i recieved back to them and told them if i every get anything from them ever again i would consider it harrasment and i would turn the matter over to my attorney. That was the last time i heard from them and i now take my CRV to another dealer. This dealer has screwed over countless people or so i have heard.

I know I'll pay out big time on this one...dumb ass me not getting the extended
warranty....last time I have faith in a Honda....I did have trouble with the
dealer after the sale. After I bought the car and they promised to fix
everything that I found..I brought it in and they said well...this may take a
few days and you'll have to sit here all day while we find someone to work on
it...I did have an appointment...They treated me really nice when I was looking
to buy but after the sale...forgetaboutit...I was some second class citizen
looking for a friggen handout. I took care of the problem and told them the
same thing....leave me alone, don't send me any crap about your sales or
specials....I'll go somewhere else for now on..that's why I'm going to another
dealer to have it fixed...

Joe,

I've had nothing but Hondas since about 1994. After years of owning
multiple other brands the Honda is a GODsend. I still get extended
warranties but my dealer (Huggins Honda, Fort Worth area) is
excellent. When my compressor went out on my brand-new 2002 CR-V
Honda paid for all repairs and the rental car. I had the car for two
weeks while waiting for the part. The customer service there is
excellent. Please don't hold the horrible service at this one dealer
against the entire company!
