I have 98 CRV. Remote entry works well, but want a 2nd one for the
wife. Any suggestiosn on where to find one cheap as well as
somewhere (perhaps on the net) to find programming instructions. I
have looked on ebay, but they all say must match FCC numbers, which
I can't find on my remote. Any help would be much appreciated.

is on the back in teeny-tiny text.

I agree with Larry, handaaccessories is a good source for parts. Here's
their page for the remote (it's near the bottom of the page and also
has the link to a PDF which explains how to program the remotes):

Honda's list price is $199.00 for two remotes, Handa's price is $49.00
also for two remotes. The only one they list is for a 1997-2001 LX.

I looked on eBay (searched on "honda crv keyless") and found over half
a dozen currently for sale. Of the ones I checked, all of them had an
FCC number of E4EG8DJ. All of the "buy it now" ones are selling for $25
for one. I checked the sold ones and their prices ranged from $10 to
$25.

If it were me, I'd go for two brand new ones from Handa for $49. You
can program all three remotes at the same time.

Here's the weird part. The FCC number on mine is A2692UA101. Mine has a
black label with white letters on the back where as all of the others I
saw on the net have a gray label with black letters. Also mine is
different where the ring connects. Maybe this is because mine is for a
98 EX.
