Last Sunday the door locks failed, the right front and rear passenger window controls failed only on the drivers control side. The windows worked from each control on each door. Also the SRS indicator light came on. I pulled all of the fuses (3 locations) and checked them. I then remembered that there was an ignition switch recall for my car, so I took it to the dealer. They replaced the ignition switch and it cured everything except the SRS indicator light is still on. My question is the light problem a result of the bad switch? If so should this be fixed (reset the code??) under this recall? Thanks Alan

No, the SRS light would have nothing to do with the Ign. switch product update and in fact, neither does the inop. locks and right windows. The Ign switch update addresses worn contacts in the switch that can rarely cause the veh. to stall. The dealer likely reset the multiplex (to get the locks and windows working) as a courtesy because it's a very simple procedure that takes a few seconds. Diagnosing the SRS would be much more involved, and I'm sure they'd ask for standard check-out estimate to diagnose the SRS. Kevin

Message 1052 covers resetting the multiplex. The dealer is not going to reset the SRS with diagnosing it as well. There's a huge liability issue there. Kevin
