saltman,

what did you do about headlight harness? Is it able to handle the higher
wattage bulbs without frying itself?

When I had my 95 Impala SS I, and a lot of other guys used to run 80/100
bulbs in the car BUT you had to use a heavy duty plug in adapter harness to
be safe as well as to realize the full potential of the bulbs.

With the stock harness, as a few found out, the lights were not as
bright as they could be and the higher wattage eventually made the stock
headlight harness very brittle which eventually caused them to fail.

Thoughts?

BEEN running those bulbs for two years in my 1999 CR-V, Honda Civic since
1994.
Toyota T-100, 130w/90w I had to upgrade the harness in it, because I did not
see any increased light and it kept blowing fuses, but the manufacturer of
those bulbs wasn't HELLA and recommended a new harness!

I had a set of 80/100 watt lights...and they blew in about 3-4
months....they were pretty good...but they didn't last at all...i had a set
of Piaa's....i wire harness did fine...it's just that the car wasn't really
made to push out a 80/100 watt bulb and may have messed up the bulb and
blew....or it's that the Piaa's suck....but i doubt that though....

Two years with the 100w/80w HELLA bulbs, and I also have the factory fogs,
none have blown yet in my 1999 CR-V. I run the fogs ALWAYS, lot of night
running too.
I have had problems with other bulbs blowing, ESPECIALLY the coated bulbs.
If you touch the glass of the bulb during installation, they are sure to
blow regardless of make.

Thanks JJ, be sure to check the light out-put before and after. They are
especially bright on high beam.
A lot of concerns and questions here, it may be a repetitive statement but
don't touch the glass portion of the bulb during installation. I think you
will enjoy them.
